Ongoing Initiatives

Currently, CAUSE is offering full scholarships to children based on need at the Tucson Clay Co-op, CAUSE's partner.

The kids can choose between wheel throwing, hand-building, and clay sculpture classes, as well as family classes and Play with Clay workshops.

All tools, clay, expert instruction, and firing are provided.

CAUSE was pleased to recently collaborate with Youth on Their Own, a local nonprofit supporting high school graduation and the continued success of youth experiencing homelessness.

Russell Kahn, a teacher from the Tucson Clay Co-op, taught an 8-week pottery class at Youth on Their Own and held a showcase of student work afterward, creating a meaningful and empowering experience for those involved.

CAUSE is dedicated to continuing to provide access to affordable art and pottery classes to kids in Arizona's underserved communities.

Our Art for All project aims to bring art into schools and community centers in underserved areas, providing access to art education for all children

We are open to collaborations, support, and community feedback to grow this project to continue to serve our communities effectively.

CAUSE is a 501(c)(3) created by a group of clay artists based in Arizona, who are passionate about providing free art lessons to children, regardless of economic status.

Our goal is to make art accessible to kids who may not have the opportunity to explore their creativity due to financial constraints. Through our CAUSE program, we aim to inspire and empower young artists by teaching them the skills and techniques of clay arts.

About us

Our Story

During the pandemic, the devastating budget cuts have forced schools to make difficult decisions, resulting in the elimination of art programs. However, this challenging situation has also presented an opportunity for us to come together and make a difference. By forming a non-profit organization dedicated to replacing these lost art programs, we can inspire creativity and provide a platform for artistic expression.

Through our collective efforts, we can ensure that students continue to have access to the transformative power of art, even in these trying times. Together, we can create a supportive community that fosters artistic growth and empowers the next generation of artists. Let us embrace this challenge and work towards building a brighter future where art education thrives, and creativity knows no bounds.

Mission

Our mission is to offer free clay and pottery art classes and lessons to children who may not have access to such opportunities due to their economic circumstances. We believe that every child deserves the chance to explore their creativity and develop their artistic skills, regardless of their financial background.

By providing these classes free of charge, we aim to bridge the gap and create an inclusive space where children from all walks of life can come together and discover the joy of working with clay and creating beautiful pottery pieces. Through these classes, we hope to inspire and empower young minds, fostering their imagination and self-expression.

Our ultimate goal is to ensure that no child is left behind in their artistic journey, and that they have equal access to the transformative power of art.
